Texas police have arrested a man in connection to the death of a 22-year-old woman strangled in her apartment earlier this month.
Reginald Kimbro, 23, was charged Thursday with the murder of Molly Matheson, who was found dead at her apartment on April 10 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Police said Matheson’s body was found in her bathroom with no signs of forced entry into the apartment, the Fort-Worth Star Telegram reported.
Matheson’s parents told WFAA that she “sort of” knew the suspect.
“We would like to thank the Fort Worth Police Department and all the detectives involved in Molly’s case,” her father David Matheson said Friday in a statement. “We know that they were very diligent in their investigation which led to the arrest. This has been an overwhelmingly trying time for our family and we are confident that justice will be served for Molly.”
U.S. Marshals were sent to arrest Kimbro at his father’s house in Dallas. He was taken into custody at Mansfield Jail.
